Yachting Reflection

Yachting Reflection

Something I was pleased with...
The thing that I was pleased was that me and my buddy worked together and I was happy how it went, I was scared but I still did it with my buddy and I was pleased with how he cheered me on to do it.

Something that I improved on.....
The thing that I improved with was steering the boat because I haven’t done it before and also doing the mane sheet rope because it was confusing to do and I improved in all of those things.

Something that made me think...
The thing that I had to think the most was doing the centreboard because it was hard and confusing and I have not done it before in my life.

Something that I thought was scary.....
The scary thing was when I went for my first time and the boat was tipping and I was freaking out. I asked if we could go back to shore and he said, “aaa yeah!” but now I’m not scared at all.

The thing I could've done better.......
The thing that I could get better at is doing the mane sheet rope because Kharn didn’t tell me how to use the main sheet rope.  Now I know how to use it and  now I know next time.

Sailing story

                         Sailing

My family and I  went off for a sailing adventure for the holidays. We were in Wellington but then we sailed to Christchurch. I wondered how long that is.  I sailed for about three hours and I ended up in a strong current and it blew me to Dunedin.  That took two and a half hours and after all that I ended up spewing in the water before I got to land. It looks like we have to stay here because of that catastrophe.   Well theres some cool places to go with my family.  We could go and see the whales and thats all I know that is in Dunedin.

It ended up that we stayed in Dunedin for one year till our yacht is finished getting bolt so we could sail back to Hastings.  The bit that  got broken is of the starboard side so that was boring but at least we got back nice this time.  That is the main thing. That was a big catastrophe because I went from Wellington to Dunedin that is long for a little yacht it teaches you to sail safe and make sure you sail where it is not too windy and not small and be confident and sail safe so this doesn't happen to you.

Horse riding
I started to like horses when I was 5 because I want to follow my mum's footsteps. When I was 5, I went to a place where I learn how to ride and my favourite horse that is there is Iven because he is a good learner pony to ride.  I want to keep doing horse riding because I want to go to the horse of the year to compete in their horse shows and I am waiting for  for that day to come.

I love horses because they are fun to ride on and I train on my little pony Carlos.  In the future I hope that my horse riding will take me to a whole new level for me to go to.  Horses are big animals to ride that is why they made hamlets and cross-country vests and also riding boots so when a big horse stands on your foot it will not break your foot you can also wear gumboots and you wear jodhpurs. Horses wear saddles and bridles.

A horses life cycle goes like this: newborn foal next a yearling female-filly male-colt then an adult horse female-mare male-colt. The stuff that you mainly use on horses is a carry comb, body brush, hoof pick, water brush and the hose to wash the pony when you are using the hose you have to be gentle so you horse doesn’t get a fright and take off and also you have to tie your horse up tight so that doesn’t happen.
